CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire tourism officials say frost in the Great North Woods region has sharpened the colors and brought that area up to 60 percent of peak fall foliage.

By contrast, they say, the seacoast remains green for the most part, although swamp maples and yellow birches there are starting to change color.

They say the White Mountains region is at about 40 percent color change, and the Kancamagus Highway is dappled with bold red and deep orange leaves.

The Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region is expected to be at 40 percent of color change by the weekend.

The Monadnock and Merrimack Valley regions are at about 15 percent color change, but could reach 40 percent by the weekend with one more cold night.
